Twice the Texas High School champion in bareback riding and won the Texas High School all-around title once. He qualified for the National High School Finals three years in a row, twice in bull riding and twice in bareback riding, winning the National Championship in bareback riding in 2008, his senior year. Qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo in 2012
