Twice the Texas High School champion in bareback riding and won the Texas High School all-around title once. He qualified for the National High School Finals three years in a row, twice in bull riding and twice in bareback riding, winning the National Championship in bareback riding in 2008, his senior year. Qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo in 2012

5-8, 165 … Wife, Nicole … Father, Paul, has been the rodeo coach at Hill College (Hillsboro, Texas) since 1990, and Jake was an assistant coach there … Mother, Traci; sisters, Randa, Tomile Rostockyj (her husband, Cody, is a PRCA bull rider) and Sage … Jake started riding calves and sheep when he was four years old, moved up to ponies at 11 and got on his first bareback horses at 15 … Graduated from Bynum (Texas) High School … Enjoys fishing and hunting … Serves as the PRCA Texas Circuit Bareback Riding Director … Favorite movie is “The Cowboy Way” with Kiefer Sutherland and Woody Harrelson … Favorite kind of music is 1990s country.
