Grandfather, Chuck Sheppard, was the the 1946 team roping world champion and was inducted into the ProRodeo Hall of Fame in 2000 ... Family has operated the K4 Ranch, about 40 miles north of Prescott, Ariz.,  for seven generations ... Superstition is to never put your hat on the bed ... Graduated from Prescott (Ariz.)
