5-11, 170 … Single … Father, Marty, qualified for the 1985 National Finals Rodeo as a saddle bronc rider (1985) and now works as a PRCA competition judge; mother, Sindi, served as the Badlands Circuit director for the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and is a small-business operator … Raised on a ranch on the Lower Brule (Lakota) Indian Reservation and still works there with his dad when he isn’t out on the road competing … Started competing in rodeo at 8 years old … Graduated from Lyman High School (Presho, S.D.), where he was a running back on the football team, gaining more than 1,500 yards in his junior year and more than 1,000 as a senior. The team went 20-2 those two years in nine-man competition, losing each year in the semifinals of the 9-AA playoffs  … Identifies his dad as his rodeo idol … Favorite rodeos are the National Western Stock Show Rodeo (Denver) and Cheyenne (Wyo.)
