Won the all-around and was co-champion in tie-down roping at the Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo (Rosenberg, Texas). Won the Justin Boots Playoffs (Puyallup, Wash.), the Helotes (Texas) Festival Association Rodeo, the Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.), the Lewiston (Idaho) Roundup, the Pueblo Colorado Wrangler Champions Challenge, and the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo Champions Challenge presented by Justin Boots. Co-champion at the Moses Lake (Wash.) • 2015: Won Round 5 and placed in three other rounds to rank 10th at the Wrangler NFR. Won the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo. Finished 12th in the world standings with $143,252
• 2014: Won the RAM Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo (Waco); the Kinsmen Pro Rodeo (Brooks, Alberta); the Walla Walla (Wash.) Frontier Days; the Gooding (Idaho) ProRodeo and the Gladewater (Texas) Round-Up Rodeo. Finished 16th in the world standings with $57,828

5-7, 152 … Single … Father, Larry, runs the farm at Prairie View A&M University (his alma mater), and mother, Caralita, also works in the agriculture department at the school in Prairie View, Texas; he has two older brothers, Kenneth and Lawrence, who are also PRCA ropers … Cory and his brothers learned how to rope from their dad, who competed in amateur rodeos; Cory started roping when he was 4 … Enjoys playing basketball and swimming … Favorite meals are seafood and steak … Favorite film is “The Blind Side”
