The 32nd RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo kicks off Thursday in Kissimmee, Fla., bringing together the best cowboys across the country from each of the 12 circuits. A lot has changed over the years as the competition has moved cities and altered its name a bit.

Since 1987, the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo has brought together the best of ProRodeo for one of the biggest competitions of the year. The tradition continues in Kissimmee, Fla., April 5-8, and while the location has changed four times, only the highest scores and fastest runs make the RNCFR record book.

Spring has sprung and ProRodeo competition is heating up, as 27 cowboys moved up within the Top 15 last week. With $774,004 up for grabs across nine rodeos last week, the spring run has officially begun. Team ropers Charly Crawford and Clint Summers (pictured above) won $14,017 each at Rodeo Austin, moving them from outside of the Top 50 and well within the Top 15.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Spring Break Camp, hosted by Hidden Springs Youth Ranch and San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, took on an urban cowboy flair. Hosted just 10 minutes from the AT&T Center, the event allowed an opportunity for inner city children to have a hands-on experience with rodeo, while learning about “America’s first extreme sport.”

Bull rider Trevor Kastner, shown above taking a victory lap after winning Round 6 of the 2013 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, broke six ribs, had a Grade 2 laceration of the liver and suffered a concussion when he was bucked off Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Tombstone on March 15 at Rodeo Austin (Texas).

Since 1957, the Southeastern Livestock Exposition in Montgomery, Ala., has hosted some of the biggest names of ProRodeo. Steer wrestler Charlie Lowry has maintained the Montgomery record for 34 years with his 3.2-second run that he made in 1984.
