The Bull Riding Hall of Fame recently announced its 2017 Hall of Fame class. The inductees are bull riders Denny Flynn, Bill Kornell, Dick Griffith, Chris Shivers, Randy Magers and Lane Frost, bullfighter Rob Smets, legends Clem McSpadden and Bob Tallman, and bull Bodacious. The third annual Skirts & Spurs Brunch and Style Show raised nearly $23,000 for the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund during the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Fla., on April 8. This new infusion of cash brings Skirts & Spurs total contribution to JCCF up to a grand total of $85,000.

The Tri-State Rodeo is celebrating its 70th year with country stars Jon Pardi and Cody Johnson, and 90s pop-rock band Smash Mouth, according an announcement from Tri-State Rodeo Chairman Josh Denning. With $757,562 up for grabs at the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Fla., and nearly $100,000 at the Oakdale (Calif.) Saddle Club Rodeo, it’s no surprise that 37 cowboys made substantial gains in the WEATHER GUARD® PRCA World Standings this past week. Among the bunch is Jesse Stipes who moved from 125th to 11th in the team roping headers.

Tie-down roper Matt Shiozawa won his fourth RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo title in Kissimmee, Fla., Sunday with a 7.3-second run in the final round. The Wilderness Circuit cowboy also won the championship in 2008 and 2012-13.

Long time rodeo cowboy Tater Decker died March 31, 2017 from natural causes in his home in Talihina, Okla. Decker competed in steer wrestling at the 1959 and 1961 National Finals Rodeos ended both years ranked 13th and eight in the world standings, respectively.

RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo Turns 30

The first Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo was held 30 years ago in Pocatello, Idaho, featuring some of the best cowboys across the country - such as Troy Pruitt (pictured above), who tied for second place in the calf roping. Thursday is the start of the 30th annual National Circuit Finals Rodeo. The inaugural Dodge National Circuit Finals Rodeo was held in March of 1987 in Pocatello, Idaho, but the story began more than a decade before then.
