The amount of money Trevor Brazile earned in 2015, which is the highest single-year earnings in PRCA history. Brazile earned his money that season in tie-down roping, team roping and steer roping. He won the all-around and steer roping world titles that year.

The four photographers selected to be the official photographers for the PRCA at the 2018 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo are in-arena photographers James Phifer and Phil Doyle, and behind-the-scenes photographers Ric Andersen and Billie-Jean Duff. The Wrangler NFR is Dec. 6-15 in Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center.

William DenverDennyWingate of Cambridge, Kan., a former National Finals Rodeo qualifier in bareback riding in 1967 and 1969, passed away Nov. 7. He was 78.

Wingate finished a career-best 12th in the 1969 world standings. Wingate’s first rodeo was in Vidor, Texas, in 1959. He bought his PRCA card in 1962. Wingate rode bulls for a short time then specialized in bareback riding. Wingate continued to make his living in rodeo and worked on various ranches for several decades. Wingate said his proudest moments in rodeo included winning Spanish Fork (Utah) in 1965, Scottsdale (Ariz.) in 1967, Springdale (Ark.) in 1968 and Montgomery (Ala.) in 1978, when he tied with the legendary Bruce Ford. Wingate eventually moved to Atlanta, Kan., where he met and married Carol King in 1980. He continued to operate and work on area ranches, train colts and was a riding instructor at the Sankey Rodeo Schools. Wingate was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harry Wingate of Vidalia, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Carol; brother, John Wingate; sister, Pam Jernigan-Wingate; daughters, Shawn (Kelly) Marymee; Lynn Wingate; sons, Matt Wingate; Mike (Krista) Wingate; grandchildren, Denver Quade McCoy, Braden Wingate, Katelyn Wingate, Madelynn Wingate, Landon Wingate, and Steven Venn. A memorial service for Wingate’s friends to gather and celebrate his life will be at the First Baptist Church at 423 Elm St., in Burden, Kan., Dec. 1 from 1-3 p.m. (CT).
