Lowe out for remainder of Wrangler NFR


LAS VEGAS – Bareback rider Will Lowe, a three-time world champion (2003, 2005-2006) is out for the remainder of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo – Rounds 9 and Round 10 with a right wrist injury.

Lowe was injured when he was bucked off Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Killer Bee.

“I’m getting X-Rays this afternoon,” said Lowe, 35, who was doctored released out of Round 9 and Round 10. “This sucks, but it is part of it. This is a dangerous sport.”

Lowe is 15th in the 2018 PRCA | RAM World Standings with $91,517. He earned $21,500 at the 2018 Wrangler NFR. Lowe placed fourth in Round 1 and tied for fifth in Round 6.

Lowe, who is from Canyon, Texas, replaced injured bareback rider J.R. Vezain, who was unable to compete at this year’s Wrangler NFR.
