Hello, everyone. I hope you blog followers aren’t mad at me for being so delayed in writing. We recently purchased a new computer before the first of the year and I have been trying to figure it out. It’s not your typical computer. It is an iMAC. My wife, Lacy, and I know nothing about it and we have been playing with all the programs trying to figure out how to operate them. Needless to say, I had to write this on our old computer because I don’t know how to use the typing program yet. We do love the simplicity of the computer, for those of you who own one you know what I am talking about. They have wonderful picture and video programs; they also have a Web site building program to build your own Web site. So for those of you who have asked me about getting a Web page, I''m on it. It might take me a while to get it going but I have already started building it complete with several pictures and videos of rodeos and everyday things. I will be sure to let you know when I get it up and running and possibly have a link from this blog directly to the site.
The past two months have flown by so quickly I don’t really know where to start. After the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, we came directly to Arizona to Lacy’s parents, Dale and Lynette’s place. We stayed through Christmas and had a wonderful time. It was the first time we had been able to spend Christmas in Arizona. We did all the traditional family get together stuff that they do during that time of year, including celebrating the birth of Jesus which is the most important part; I had a really great time. Lacy and I had not been home for well over a month and we decided to head home before the first of the year to settle in and get ready for the New Year. I was up in Odessa on the Jan. 3, so the break wasn’t very long.
We made another needed purchase when we got home. We bought a tractor! Well, Lacy has been telling me to buy one for the last three years and I kept putting it off and putting it off, so finally we went in and got what we wanted. I had been looking at them off and on the last two years so I knew what I wanted and knew what size I needed. We ended up getting a Kubota 45 horse with a front end loader. I haven’t gotten any attachments, I’m not sure what I want and what I’ll need just yet. I think it’s big enough for all I need and small enough for yard work around the house. I still haven’t put more than two hours on it yet but I like it so far. Everyone I know that has one loves them and gets so much more done.
While we were home we nearly finished the fence we have been building the past eight months. The back part of our property had been under water since September, and that’s when we started to be home on a regular basis, so we have not been able to work on it very much. But now that it’s done we are getting ready to be gone so we won’t be able to use it much. We usually have the back property planted in winter wheat so Lacy wanted to put some goats or some calves out there but that might have to wait until next fall.
Some terrific news: I’m excited to announce that I am an uncle, that’s right Uncle Ryan! My brother Corey and his wife Candace had a little girl on Jan. 5. Her name is Haley Stone Gray. Nobody expected the labor not even Corey. They were scheduled to have a C section on the 15th, so it was a little unexpected when she came about ten days early. Lacy and I were fortunate enough to be in Lubbock, Texas, so we made it to the hospital in time for the delivery. Corey is always a happy and excited person but I don’t know if I have ever seen my brother that happy. She is an adorable little girl.
On the same day that Corey and Candace had their baby girl, Lacy’s dad Dale had brain surgery. It was supposed to be a 4-6 hour surgery and it lasted more than 8 ½ hours. He had two new large areas of enhancement, and the entire left side of his brain was filled with fluid and swelling. The biopsy on the enhanced areas did come back for Glioblastoma IV, so that means these are new tumors. The neurosurgeon said that at least now they are in a Petri dish instead of in Dale’s brain. He is still recovering from the surgery, and battling medication changes. Thank you for your support and prayers. Lacy and I have made a couple trips to Arizona to spend some time there with the family. We know that God has a plan for all of us and we will continue to pray for His will to be done.
Thanks again for your continued prayers and support and I will try not to leave you guys hanging so long next time.
Ryan and Lacy Gray spend time in Arizona with Lacy''s parents, Dale and Lynette, whenever they can. They couldn''t resist stopping by this big cactus and snapping a picture for their family and friends.
