Etbauer wins record 50th round
No cowboy has performed at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo the way that five-time World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider Billy Etbauer has in his 21 appearances, and he added to his legacy in front of 17,069 fans at the Thomas & Mack Center in Round 7. The Edmond, Okla., bronc rider added to his record for most Wrangler NFR round victories by taking No. 50 thanks to a thrilling 90-point ride aboard Bar T Rodeo''s Son of Sadie.

Mote remains hot in round 6
Bareback rider Bobby Mote won back-to-back rounds at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. The two-time world champion from Culver, Ore., split first place yesterday and posted a solo win on Dec. 8 with an 87.5-point ride on Delta Force of the Frontier Rodeo string. Mote is closing in on PRCA World Standings leader Clint Cannon.

Tonight is Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, when contestants, PRCA officials and fans join forces against the scourge of breast cancer. This is the fifth anniversary of the Wrangler NFR’s involvement in the Tough Enough to Wear Pink campaign, which has raised more than $5 million for cancer research and educational campaigns to encourage testing. The national anthem will be sung tonight by the LoCash Cowboys and Juice Newton will perform during the opening ceremonies. The performance sponsor tonight is Montana Silversmiths.

Tough Enough to Wear Pink celebrates 5 years
Tough Enough To Wear Pink™ (TETWP), the grassroots cowboy campaign to fight breast cancer, celebrated its fifth anniversary tonight at the signature Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (Wrangler NFR) in Las Vegas. While pink is not typically associated with rough-and-tumble rodeo cowboys, the support of the western industry and rodeo fans was unmistakable as the sold-out crowd sported pink shirts, hats, bracelets and more.

Brazile-Ohl tie in Round 5 of WNFR
Nine-time World Champion Trevor Brazile and six-time World Champion Cody Ohl split first place in the tie-down roping in Round Five on Dec. 7 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The Texas duo finished with identical marks of 7.1 seconds and won $15,343 apiece.

2010 Xtreme Bulls dates unveiled
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association’s Seminole Hard Rock Xtreme Bulls Tour presented by B&W Trailer Hitches rides into 2010 with a national schedule that will continue to bring the excitement of PRCA bull riding to millions of fans with national coverage on network television, according to Winnercomm spokesperson Marc Kidd, who made the announcement today during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.

TV contract with In Country for 2010 announced
The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association has signed a contract with In Country Television to air 30 hours of coverage in 2010, including all eight Gold Tier rodeos on the Wrangler Million Dollar Tour.

Exceptional athletes meet rodeo personnel
The PRCA hosted its 27th annual Exceptional Rodeo Monday morning at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, giving cowboys, WPRA cowgirls and PRCA contract personnel an opportunity to work with special needs children from the Las Vegas area and teach them about the sport of rodeo.

Repeat winners highlight Round 3
Steer wrestler Shawn Greenfield won back-to-back rounds (two and three) at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 5 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. The Lakeview, Ore., cowboy has won more than $30,000 so far in the 10-day competition and has risen to fifth place in the PRCA World Standings.

Graves, Kruse overcome injuries
Montanan and PRCA World Standings leader Jesse Kruse won Round 4 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 6 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Kruse scored 90 points on Calgary Stampede’s Hell’s Half Acre, and it was his first win of the WNFR after a bit of a slow start.

Feild continues family's success
Twenty five years after his father Lewis won his first of three consecutive all-around gold buckles at the Thomas & Mack Center the first year the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo was held in Las Vegas, bareback rider Kaycee Feild got a win of his own in the same building.

The results are in and the next Miss Rodeo America has been crowned. The 2010 leading lady of professional rodeo is Kelli Jackson of Eupora, Miss.

Taos Muncy, the 2007 World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider, scored 86 points on Calgary Stampede’s Knife Money to win Round 1 of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, Dec. 3 in Las Vegas. The Corona, N.M., cowboy was among the world champions who had a strong opening night in the 51st annual event.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association announced its top selections at its Annual PRCA Awards Banquet, Dec. 2 at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. The winners are bolded below. The nominees in each of the 11 categories were voted on by contestants, participating contract personnel and dues paying rodeo committees. Ballots were mailed out no later than Sept. 15.

All 10 rounds of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo are scheduled to be broadcast on Canada’s TSN (The Sports Network) tape-delayed, Dec. 4-15. The Wrangler NFR runs Dec. 3-12 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, and nine performances will be televised live on ESPN2 and ESPN Classic. The Wrangler NFR features the most elite contestants in professional rodeo and will pay out a record purse of $5.75 million. The Wrangler NFR has sold out more than 220 consecutive performances.

2009 season ticket policy for WNFR qualifiers
Each Wrangler NFR qualifier in the top 15 will receive one (1) complimentary season ticket in the plaza. Additionally, each qualifier has the option to purchase up to eight (8) additional season tickets in the plaza at $670 per season ticket, with additional shipping and handling fee of $40 per order. Seating location requests will not be accepted, an exceptional effort will be made to place your seats in the best area of the arena to view.
