The Caldwell (Idaho) Night Rodeo was featured in a segment of PBS’s NewsHour with Jim Lehrer on Aug. 24. The program about health care reform focused on Congressman Walt Minnick(D-Idaho) as hevisited people in southwest Idaho and listened to their concerns.
The news crew followed Minnick as he stopped at the Caldwell Night Rodeo, along with places such as an angler’s shop, restaurant, hospital and public gatherings in the Caldwell and Boise areas.
Idaho cowboys Jake Hayworth, a saddle bronc rider, and Austin Manning, a steer wrestler, had short comments in the segment. Rodeo action clips and crowd shots were also used in the program.
The segment was posted on the show’s Web site the same day it aired on PBS.
