Career Highlights
• 2006 – Finished the year as the regular-season leader with $155,132. However, he had to withdraw from the Wrangler NFR after the second round when he re-injured the torn muscles in his abdominal and groin areas. Underwent surgery on Dec. 14 in Philadelphia to repair the torn muscles; was the co-champion at the Ogden (Utah) Pioneer Days Rodeo and won the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour and average titles at the Dodge City (Kan.) Roundup; won the second stop on the Dodge Xtreme Bulls Ride Hard Tour in San Antonio; won bull riding titles at the Newnan (Ga.) Pro Rodeo, Walla Walla (Wash.) Fair & Frontier Days, Athens (Texas) MDA Pro Rodeo, Spanish Fork (Utah) Fiesta Days Rodeo, Rodeo of the Ozarks (Springdale, Ark.), Santa Rosa Roundup (Vernon, Texas), Marshall (Texas) Pro Rodeo, Matagorda County Fair and PRCA Rodeo (Bay City, Texas), Dixie National (Jackson, Miss.), Mid-Winter Fair and Rodeo (Lafayette, La.) and Ark-La-Miss Stampede Days (Monroe, La.).
• 2005 – Won his first world title and set a new PRCA record for highest single-season earnings with $320,766 in just bull riding. He broke Ty Murray’s record of $297,896 that was set in 1993 in three events. He also set a new single-season earnings record in bull riding, breaking Terry Don West’s record of $211,879 set in 2003 and won the average title at the 2005 Wrangler NFR with 586.5 points on seven head; won the average title at the Xtreme Bulls National Finals produced by Lazy E Productions and was crowned the overall champion breaking Terry Don West’s 2003 single-season earning record; won the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round and average title at the Ellensburg (Wash.) Rodeo; won the average title at the Cheyenne (Wyo.) Frontier Days Rodeo; won average title and the Wrangler Tour Round at the Days of ’47 Rodeo (Salt Lake City, Utah); co-champion in the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round at the Reno (Nev.) Rodeo; won the Annual SW District Livestock Show & Rodeo (Lake Charles, La.), the Bell County Youth Fair & Livestock Show and PRCA Rodeo (Belton, Texas), the Tuff Hedeman’s Championship Challenge and the Crockett (Texas) Lions Club PRCA Rodeo; co-champion at Marshall (Texas) Pro Rodeo; won the Wrangler ProRodeo Tour Round at the Laughlin (Nev.) River Stampede; won Birmingham-BULLNANZA with a 90.5-point ride aboard Robertson-Wilson’s Corn Dog and a 94-point ride in the finals aboard Robertson-Wilson’s Biloxi Blues, winning a total of $15,031.
• 2004 – Finished the year ranked second in the world with $187,302 and finished fourth in the average at the Wrangler NFR with $66,759; shared top spot for money earned on Xtreme Bulls tour with $32,900. One of only three Xtreme Bull riders to win two Xtreme Bulls events (Salt Lake City 2003 and Reno, Nev., 2004); Won average titles at the Oakdale (Calif.) Saddle Club Rodeo and Red River Rodeo (Wichita Falls, Texas); was a finalist at Pace Challenge (Omaha, Neb.) after tying for first in Round 2 with an 84.5-point ride on Rafter H Rodeo’s Speckled Bird; won the Pace Classic (Dallas), riding Andrews Rodeo’s Rompus for 88 points in the final round. Finished second in the semifinals with an 88-point ride on Rafter H Rodeo’s Roan Wolf; placed in six out of 10 rounds at the Wrangler NFR, finishing second in Round. 7 with an 85.5-point ride on Andrews Rodeo’s Cat Daddy and in Round 8 with an 87.5-point ride on Bar T Rodeo’s Smokeless Spotted Dog.
• 2003 – Won Xtreme Bulls tour stop title and $26,163 in Salt Lake City, highlighted by a 90-point ride aboard Diamond G’s Wanna Dance in the final round; won title at Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo; finished the year 18th in the world with $63,090.
• 2002 – Won $10,000 for successfully riding the bounty bull in Mesquite, Texas.

Awards
Won overall and bull-riding Rookie of the Year titles in 2003 with earnings of $63,089.

Amateur
Lone Star High School Rodeo Association champion and the United Pro Rodeo Association champion for bull riding, 2001; Finished third at the College National Finals Rodeo, 2004 and won the bull riding title in 2005.

Personal
5-9, 156…Single…Hobbies include roping and playing on his Sony PlayStation…Is a Dallas Cowboys fan…Became interested in rodeo through his father, who competed for many years. His grandfather, Boyd, his father, Lonnie, and his uncle, Dennis, have all competed in PRCA rodeos…Nickname is Poindexter, a name he got from Donny Gay, because he rides with his glasses on…Played baseball and football in high school.
