Washington high school all-around champion, 1997-99. Big Sky Region all-around and bareback riding champion, 2000-2003. Qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo in bareback and saddle bronc riding and tie-down and team roping, 2000-2003

5-9, 170…Wife, Tracey; son Blaise…Hobbies include working as a pickup man and hunting…Parents are Jim and Melanie Thompson. Jim works in construction and Melanie is a nurse. Has two brothers and a sister…Got involved in rodeo through his family, with his first competition in 1993. He has several relatives that compete in rodeo, including bull rider Zack Oakes, who is a brother-in-law and cousins Seth, Sam and Ben Buchert, who are tie-down ropers…Graduated from Mt. Spokane (Wash.) High School were he wrestled and played football…Patterned his riding style after Deb Greenough and Clint Corey…Favorite rodeo is Omak, Wash., favorite type of food is steak, favorite movie is Lonesome Dove, and favorite music is country…Travels with Zack Oakes and both are part of the Army of One team…Rodeo idol is Clint Corey
